Cosmos

We’ve created galaxies in city blocks.

Neon signs go supernova on every corner
Store fronts orbit street lamp suns
Automobiles populate the asteroid belts
And we reap the benefits of this beauty.
We live in a world that sparkles and
Breathes with life,
With cityscapes that rival even the cosmos.
We have built structures that scrape the
Heavens
And we have made ourselves tall.
With such greatness at eye level,
Looking up has become obsolete.
Though, this fact seems to no longer bother
Us.

All of this celestial beauty
And the only price we had to pay
Was the stars in the sky.
